Julie de Waroquier is a French philosophy student at Ecole Normale Supérieure / Université Lyon 3. She is a self-taught photographer who started photography in 2008. In 2012, she distinguished herself by winning several national and international photography awards, notably the International Emerging Artist Award.

This series of Julie’s, entitled “Strangers“, illustrates the first contact between a human and wild animals, to symbolically represent the meeting experience of completely different beings. She creates stories in her photographs that “intertwine wildlife nature and human imagination”, and captures the natural animal-like emotions such as confidence and suspicion, curiosity and fear.
